Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the oversight, leadership and direction of all Air Freight Stations operation in the Maersk Network.
  • Standardize Air Station structures globally for Large, Medium and Small operations
  • Through performance management, create and establish defined measurements to be reviewed weekly and Monthly.
  • Create and align measurements to be used to assess local vendors – ie Trucking, Warehouse etc.
  • Align Structure and responsibilities for Regional Control Towers
  • Direct and ensure optimal station client service levels strictly adhered to
  • Ensure Gateway policy is strictly adhered to –maximum use of import/export gateways
  • Ensure Cargo wise processes are uniformly implemented in each operating site. Conduct review audits with BPE Global/Regional
  • Monitor business execution and quality of service
  • Deliver planned growth in a service oriented, profitable manner
  • Oversee global client implementations to ensure zero defect
  • Plans and reviews necessary resources Regional/Area level -staffing, training, equipment and systems.
  • Through collaboration with BPE and Client Engagement that fiscal and budgetary goals for Air Operations Sites are achieved and exceeded.
  • Manage professional development of team
  • Develop, grow and nurture client relations to ensure customer service and operation levels for the Region are maintained.
  • Ensure stations are operated within defined operating budgets.

Maersk Invests in Vertoro for Green Fuels

Danish shipping giant Maersk, via Maersk Growth, is investing in Dutch start-up Vertoro to advance its liquid lignin technology for marine fuels. This investment will help Vertoro build a demo plant operational by 2022, producing lignin-based fuels. Maersk sees lignin as a key to decarbonizing shipping, alongside biodiesel, alcohols, and ammonia. This is Maersk's third recent investment in future fuels, following investments in WasteFuel and Prometheus.
