Position Overview

StepStone is currently seeking candidates with excellent quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills for Intern positions with StepStone’s Portfolio, Analytics and Reporting team. The ideal candidate will be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree and some level of finance or other relevant experience. The candidate should also have an advanced understanding of Excel. Adherence to the highest ethical standards, along with the demonstration of maturity, reliability, and attentiveness to detail, is expected. Primary responsibilities include:

Contribute to comprehensive investment portfolio assessments by collecting and consolidating fund manager and fund strategy information
Classify and store characteristics of investment managers into StepStone’s proprietary database
Evaluate qualitative aspects of potential private markets fund opportunities by summarizing team composition and strategy pursued by the fund
Perform ad hoc analysis using proprietary and third-party databases to be used across StepStone’s research due diligence process

Assist the overall SPAR Analytics team on expanded scope projects and tasks

Other Requirements include:

Pursuing BA/BS in Finance, Economics or Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience
Demonstrated track record of academic success
Ability to represent the firm credibly in written and interpersonal communications
Strong, demonstrable analytical capabilities, including strong quantitative/modeling skills
Team player
High proficiency in Excel
Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Python is a plus
Flexibility—StepStone is a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization; all professionals are expected to perform multiple functions
