Requirements
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing.
- A current New York license and registration in good standing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- The ability to provide clinically sound and compassionate care.
- A cooperative and caring approach to support rehabilitation and resident health.
- Interest in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and challenging residents.
- Communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and harmoniously with all staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to unit leadership and respond appropriately and promptly to resident and family needs within the Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice.
- Use the nursing process, professional judgment, and nursing skills to set priorities and deliver quality direct resident care while promoting resident safety and care quality.
- Perform and administer standard nursing treatments and medications, and observe residents for desired or adverse effects.
- Communicate and collaborate with appropriate care-team members to revise or update the nursing care plan and report pertinent findings, including laboratory and test results, incidents, and concerns.
- Monitor and document vital signs, administered treatments, and residents' responses.
- Prepare, organize, oversee, monitor, and evaluate resident care delivered through Certified Nursing Assistant assignments and activities based on resident needs and personnel competency.
