- 2-4 years of experience in finance or accounting roles at venture-capital-funded startups or SaaS companies.
- Demonstrated experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable management and vendor negotiations.
- A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field, such as B.Com or BBA Finance.
- CA qualification or CMA/CFA certification is mandatory.
- Experience with Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas for reporting and analysis.
- Familiarity with ARR, MRR, churn rates, and subscription business models.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and opportunities.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of equity structures and cap table management.
- Ability to take ownership of processes from setup to execution, manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders, drive systematic results, and deliver accurate work within tight timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication for investor and vendor interactions.
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders and present financial reports to leadership and investors.
- Ability to work at the pace of a startup, take initiative, solve problems proactively, and balance thoroughness with speed and iteration.
- Ability to think creatively about process improvements and cost optimization.
