We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Master Data Director to lead and manage all aspects of enterprise data across the organization, with a strong focus on data governance, M&A activities, and maintaining data integrity. This role is critical for overseeing SAP and other data conversion processes, particularly during mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and ensuring the successful management of complex data structures. The ideal candidate will lead a large team responsible for daily data execution and maintenance, collaborate with third-party vendors to deliver data conversion solutions, and work closely with the data governance team to uphold the highest standards of data quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a large team of data management professionals, responsible for daily data execution, maintenance, and overall data integrity across the enterprise.
- Provide strategic direction, mentoring, and support to the data team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Oversee staffing, training, and development of the data team to ensure they have the skills and resources necessary to meet organizational goals.
Complex Data Structure Management:
- Oversee the management and conversion of large, complex data structures, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance throughout the process.
- Lead efforts to optimize data structures for performance, scalability, and ease of integration with existing enterprise systems.
- Ensure that all data conversion processes adhere to established data governance policies and maintain the highest standards of data integrity.
Data Conversion and ETL Management:
- Lead SAP and other data conversion efforts during M&A activities, ensuring seamless ETL operations and integration of acquired data into the existing enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and consultants to deliver high-quality data conversion solutions, ensuring they meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of data conversion processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data.
Data Governance and Integrity:
- Lead the data governance team to develop and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures across the enterprise.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and security.
- Focus on maintaining and enhancing data integrity throughout the organization, particularly during data conversion and M&A activities.
System Integration and Data Tools:
- Manage the integration of SAP and other enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency across the organization.
- Utilize Syniti data tools and other relevant technologies to enhance data management processes and improve overall data quality.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data interfaces between SAP and other systems, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Data Management:
- Play a key role in M&A activities, leading the data integration efforts to ensure smooth transitions and integration of acquired data into the existing systems.
- Conduct data due diligence to assess the quality and compatibility of data from acquired entities.
- Develop and execute data integration plans, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations during M&A activities.
Vendor and Third-Party Coordination:
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing services related to data conversion and management, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Coordinate with external partners to ensure successful project execution and service delivery.
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance management to maintain high-quality service delivery.
Stakeholder Management and Support:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all enterprise data management-related inquiries, ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT, business, and third-party vendors to ensure successful execution of data management projects and initiatives.
- Engage with senior leadership to provide insights and recommendations on data management strategies and practices.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data management processes, focusing on enhancing data quality, integrity, and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in data management, ETL processes, and data governance.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall enterprise data management capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in enterprise data management, with a strong focus on SAP data conversion, ETL processes, data governance, and M&A integration.
- Proven experience in leading large data management teams, with a track record of successful project execution and team development.
- Extensive experience with SAP environments and data conversion tools, with a preference for experience using Syniti data tools.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in managing third-party vendors and ensuring successful delivery of data management services.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with M&A data integration and management.
- Familiarity with other enterprise data management systems and tools.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects.
