World Relief Western Washington (Bellingham location) seeks an experienced, well-organized, and strategic-minded staff member to assist refugee resettlement caseworkers with providing case management services to newly-arrived refugees. This position reports to the Resettlement Manager and is oriented toward the goal of helping refugees flourish in every aspect of their lives.
Role & Responsibilities

- Welcome newly arriving refugee families and individuals
- Provide community orientation, counsel, and assistance in addressing basic needs
- Assist refugee clients in accessing appropriate services such as public assistance, education, health care, and employment services
- Encourage clients to work towards self-sufficiency and early employment in tandem with other staff members
- Assist caseworkers with documentation and case file maintenance as needed -Assist in maintaining regular contact with cases, including required home visits
- Identify and address barriers to successful resettlement as necessary
- Operate as a cultural broker between volunteers, church groups, service providers, staff and refugees.
- Other related tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficiency in Afghan languages (Dari/Persian and Pashto) desired
- Previous experience with refugees highly desirable
- Good time management and multi-tasking skills
- Basic computer skills

- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- A desire to serve refugees in support of the mission of World Relief \
- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively in cross-cultural settings
- Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly in a fast paced work environment
- Good oral and written English communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to plan and achieve goals with minimal supervision
- Current driver’s license, and clean driving record required
- Flexible schedule to include working occasional evenings and weekends
