Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in systems, software, platform, site reliability, or DevOps engineering
  • 1+ years of experience building or operating cloud applications on a major provider such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
  • Demonstrated experience with CI / CD tools such as Azure DevOps, CircleCi, Github Actions, or similar
  • Ability to handle projects end-to-end with a high degree of independence
  • Experience in cloud automation using Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform (preferred), Chef, or Puppet
  • Capable of communicating technical decisions and design to non technical stakeholders
  • Experience writing code in .NET, Java / Kotlin, or Python
  • Experience working with distributed and event based architectures
  • Experience with containerized workloads and Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems
Responsibilities
  • Closely works with their team to develop solutions that further Arrive’s internal developer platform
  • Owns what they build; develop, test, deploy, and monitor it
  • Assists with executing and collaborating on medium to large-scale technical solutions with growing independence
  • Builds technical expertise and voice in the organization, increasing their team’s effectiveness by understanding the why behind projects
  • Collaborates across teams to build solutions that are bigger than just their team’s purview
  • Builds relationships across departments to identify issues proactively and solve them as a team
  • Creates automation to ensure repeatability and eliminate toil
  • Contributes to reusable tooling to abstract complexities of technologies like Kubernetes, Terraform, and more
  • Extends their talents to the rest of the organization by participating in guild talks, standards discussions, and other initiatives that drive us forward
  • Expands their cloud native expertise by deeply understanding our engineering practices, how open source and third party tools can accelerate our processes, and building subject matter expertise in technologies like Kubernetes
  • Practices quality documentation and ensures codebases are left in a comprehensive manner for other team members to use
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to handle incoming requests and emergent issues for the Platform organization
  • Understand the challenges of learning various technologies and design, create, and deliver training materials to help bridge the gap
