Requirements
  • Education – Bachelor, master or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Experience - Minimum of 8 years with a BS Degree, 7 years with a MS degree or 5 years with a PhD from a Technical University
  • Skills candidates should have an advance level understanding of Optical integrated and electrical circuit design, test and the effects of characteristics on product yield and performance.
  • Able to write and develop internal software tools for test development and optimization of test time.
  • Prior experience in transferring, implementing, ramping and sustaining Optical/electrical test in a high-volume manufacturing setting with a focus on customer-specific product / technology analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a global cross functional team environment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, ability to work effectively with all levels of wafer Fab organization.
  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Programming languages C/C++, Unix, Java, shell scripting, multi-paradigm (R) and high-level, Python/Perl for automation and statistical.
  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal
  • Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET level U.S. Government security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.
  • Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates.
  • Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
  • Work and collaborate other projects and/or assignments as needed.
  • Shows mastery and breadth of a technical discipline and is recognized within the company as an authority in his/her area(s) of specialization.
  • Demonstrates initiative and creativity resulting in high degree of innovation while showing the capacity to solve major problems of an advanced complexity affecting various departments and businesses.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in electrical and optical characterizations of semiconductor laser diodes including DC test of laser power, current, voltage, and optical spectrum; RF test of laser small signal modulation and fiber optical transmission test.
  • Experience in electro-optic applications such as modulators, multiplexing, fiber characterization tests using power meter/laser sources and fiber end face testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of optical/electrical probing solutions for wafer level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills.
