Requirements
  • Texas Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License or the ability to obtain through the operator’s exam or reciprocity preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment System as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Perform operations and maintenance duties on the company’s treatment system, including monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor water/wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary to control their operation.
  • Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and EPA standards.
  • Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
  • Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintain all necessary records.
  • Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties.
  • Analyze instantaneous and historical data to decide and act on needed process/operational adjustments (e.g. demand, chemical dosage, process adjustments).
  • Promptly troubleshoot process, instrumentation, data, and mechanical problems.
