Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Obtain the IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months.
  • An appropriate state adjuster license is required.
  • No prior experience is required.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
  • Be proficient with personal computers, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to timely reporting.
  • Have strong customer service skills.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have good time-management and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work independently or in a team environment.

  • Be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day and have continual manual dexterity.
  • Have sufficient hearing, vision, and speaking ability.
Responsibilities
  • Examine insurance policies and other records to determine insurance coverage.
  • Interview, telephone, and correspond with claimants and witnesses regarding claims.
  • Consult police and hospital records and inspect property damage to determine the extent of company liability, using investigation methods appropriate to the type of insurance.
  • Estimate the cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
  • Prepare reports of findings and negotiate settlements with claimants.
  • Recommend litigation to the legal department when settlements cannot be negotiated.
  • Attend litigation hearings.
  • Revise case reserves in assigned claims files to cover probable costs.
  • Assist in preparing loss-experience reports to help determine profitability and calculate adequate future rates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the organization's quality programs.
  • Travel as required.

Sedgwick appoints Jason Rogers to lead carrier and captive solutions growth

Sedgwick, a global risk and claims administration company, has appointed Jason Rogers as Managing Director for Carrier & Captive Solutions. In this newly created role, Rogers will oversee the company's work with captives, insurance carriers, and managing general agents and underwriters whilst driving growth initiatives. Rogers brings over 20 years of insurance industry experience in underwriting, brokerage and program administration. He previously held senior leadership positions with full profit and loss responsibility for more than a decade. He will report to Emily Fink, Global Chief Marketing Officer and President of Growth Markets. Rogers holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from Columbia University and Villanova University respectively. Sedgwick employs over 33,000 people and serves 10,000 clients across 80 countries. Sedgwick has launched a direct repair programme for heavy equipment, expanding its existing network of over 3,400 contracted body shops for private passenger vehicles. The new service provides carriers with access to 250 certified repair facilities serving 18-wheelers, refrigerated lorries, and specialised vehicles across the US. The programme features electronic integration with Sedgwick's mobile app and digital platform, enabling mobile photo capture, real-time repair tracking, and in-app communication. Carriers receive rapid estimates within 48 hours of inspection, contracted labour rates, and transparent pricing. All facilities use certified heavy equipment technicians. The service aims to reduce repair cycle times whilst keeping policyholders informed throughout the process. Sedgwick provides risk and claims administration services to over 10,000 clients across 80 countries.
