Requirements
  • At least 10 years of information technology experience, including at least 5 years of quantum computing and cryptography experience at a large corporation or government agency; a master's degree in a related information technology field may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience.
  • Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms such as Shor's algorithm and Grover's algorithm, and quantum information theory.
  • Expertise in quantum programming languages and frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, and Microsoft Quantum Development Kit.
  • Expertise in post-quantum cryptography and quantum-resistant algorithms.
  • Expertise in existing cryptographic standards and frameworks, including NIST and ISO/IEC 19790.
  • Expertise with classical and quantum simulation tools.
  • Expertise in project management or experience working in a project-oriented environment, including understanding how configuration management fits into the project lifecycle within a large corporation or government agency.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Certification in one or more of IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certifications.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or a related field.
  • Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI).
Responsibilities
  • Utilize Python, C++, and Java to implement and test cryptographic algorithms.
  • Work with and advise on quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies.
  • Assess the organization's cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
  • Provide policy and guidance inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST post-quantum cryptography standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.
  • Occasional travel may be required as part of the effort.
