Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
- A Master's Degree in Nursing is desired, or the candidate must complete an MSN degree within the timeline established by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and submit a written five-year plan, with annual transcripts demonstrating progress.
- A current, active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required.
- One to two years of clinical nursing experience within two years of employment is required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Developed organizational skills are required.
- Current Basic Life Support-level or higher CPR certification must be maintained.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- The candidate must be able to stand or walk for extended periods, perform a full range of physical motion, use fine motor dexterity, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Instruct, supervise, and evaluate students in Nursing Program courses.
- Supervise, guide, and instruct students in nursing laboratory, simulation, and clinical areas.
- Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
- Assist other faculty and school administrators with laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
- Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
- Attend scheduled department and team meetings.
- Comply with the policies and procedures of clinical sites where students are instructed.
- Complete the Qualifications and Professional Development form and an updated curriculum vitae annually and submit them to the supervisor to demonstrate completion of continuing education requirements for the Pennsylvania state Registered Nurse license.
- Submit a copy of the nursing license to the supervisor upon initial hire and renewal.
- Maintain all College and clinical-site compliances annually and as requested.
- Assist with curriculum review, revision, and development.
Desired Qualifications
- A doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, or DNP) in nursing, education, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Relevant teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary level is preferred.
