Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in channel sales, business development, or account management within the data center, IT, or telecommunications industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving channel growth.
  • Strong knowledge of data center solutions, including colocation, cloud services, and connectivity.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics.
Responsibilities
  • Channel Partner Development: Identify, onboard, and nurture strategic channel partners, including system integrators, managed service providers, and value-added resellers.
  • Develop comprehensive partner enablement programs to ensure alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement channel sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Drive partner engagement through training, joint marketing initiatives, and collaborative sales activities.
  • Performance Management: Set clear performance objectives for channel partners and monitor progress through KPIs.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback to partners.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product, and direct sales, to align channel efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between channel partners and internal stakeholders to address challenges and optimize collaboration.
  • Market Expansion: Identify new market opportunities and expand the channel network in untapped regions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to refine channel strategies.
  • Contract and Financial Management: Negotiate contracts and agreements with channel partners.
  • Manage partner incentive programs and ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Provide regular updates on channel performance, sales forecasts, and market insights to senior leadership.
  • Utilize CRM tools and analytics to track partner contributions and optimize channel efficiency.

KDDI shares plunge 10% as Japan telecom faces $1.6B hit from fake ad sales probe

KDDI Corp shares plunged as much as 10% in Tokyo, the steepest decline since March 2020, after Japan's second-largest telecoms provider announced an ongoing investigation into fictitious advertising sales. The probe will result in a $1.6 billion hit and require revisions to the company's group revenue for the year ending March.

KDDI partners with Bango to bundle streaming services for 70M subscribers via Digital Vending Machine

KDDI, one of Japan's largest telecoms operators with over 70 million subscribers, has partnered with Bango to bring subscription bundles to its povo2.0 pre-paid customers. The collaboration uses Bango's Digital Vending Machine to integrate leading streaming services with mobile plans. Povo2.0 operates on a flexible model, allowing customers to enhance their plans with optional add-ons rather than traditional monthly contracts. The Bango platform enables KDDI to rapidly deploy new subscription services whilst consolidating multiple streaming options into one destination, removing technical complexity behind subscription bundling. The partnership aims to strengthen customer loyalty and retention by expanding content offerings. KDDI can now access a growing catalogue of subscription services with deployment capabilities and insights to personalise bundles. Cambridge-based Bango works with major content providers including Amazon, Google and Microsoft.

NEWLOCAL raises ¥400M in Series A

NEWLOCAL, a city development startup based in Tokyo, has raised ¥400 million in a Series A funding round. The lead investor was Samurai Incubate, with participation from West Japan Railway Company, JR East Startup, KDDI's Regional Initiatives Fund 1, and Agribusiness Investment & Consultation. This brings NEWLOCAL's total funding to ¥1 billion, including loans. Zebras and Company, an investor in NEWLOCAL, will continue to support its portfolio companies and promote the implementation of zebra companies in society.

Global Brain invests in Otetsutabi platform

Global Brain Corporation, as the lead investor, has invested in Otetsutabi, a short-term job matching platform combining travel and work, through the SHGB fund, co-managed with Shinhan Venture Investment. Additional investments came from KRIF1 and ANA Future Creation Fund. Otetsutabi, launched in January 2019, connects regional businesses with travelers seeking work, boasting over 1,900 locations and 70,000 users by April 2025. The funding will enhance regional expansion, product improvement, and hiring.
