Here’s Where You Come In
The Client Relationship Manager and Education Consultant will serve as the point of contact for a portfolio of institutional retirement plan clients and their participants. This role involves managing the day-to-day aspects of retirement plan and plan sponsor needs while providing comprehensive financial education to plan participants, guiding them toward positive financial outcomes. Additionally, the consultant will oversee several internal processes, including preparing investment and plan reviews, inputting and maintaining data in the CRM system, updating education materials such as presentations and flyers, and managing updates in the scheduling software. The consultant will also coordinate with the wealth advisory team for specialized financial advice, ensuring participants receive the appropriate level of support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with plan sponsors, advisors, client service teams, and marketing to enhance the education experience for all plan participants.
- Refer participants with complex financial needs to the wealth advisory team, ensuring that clients receive specialized advice when necessary.
- Manage relationships with strategic partners and vendors, coordinating communication between the client and internal teams to support existing processes.
- Provide ongoing legislative and regulatory updates to clients and participants in preparation for reviews.
Client Relationship Manager Tasks
- Serve as the main contact for a book of institutional retirement plan clients, ensuring seamless communication between plan sponsors and recordkeepers.
- Manage investment menu design and recommendations, including facilitating meetings with investment partners and managing the Request For Proposal (RFP) process.
- Conduct plan reviews, including taking minutes of meetings, performing expense and vendor benchmarking and analysis, and managing the fund and fee change process with recordkeeping partners.
- Operate and understand internal tools and software, and be proficient in multiple recordkeeping systems, processes, and resources.
- Coordinate and attend plan committee meetings, ensuring that Plan Sponsors receive relevant and useful information on retirement plans.
- Provide support to the firm’s marketing efforts.
Retirement Education Consultant Tasks
- Provide financial education and advice to help employees make informed decisions about retirement savings and other aspects of their financial well-being.
- Educate employees on their retirement picture, including social security, pension plans, state governmental plans, employer plans (401(k), 403(b), etc.), and individual savings plans (IRA, 529, Non-qualified investments, etc.).
- Maintain operational knowledge to assist clients and plan participants with processes and transactions, while referring more complex financial advisory needs to the wealth advisory team.
- Utilize one-on-one meetings, webinars, workshops, group meetings, and newsletters to deliver educational programming.
- Assist with benefits fairs, retirement seminars, open enrollments, and one-on-one appointments hosted by the employer.
- Track meeting activity and wealth management lead pipeline for annual client reviews.

Qualifications:
- 3 + years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Series 65 preferred
- Regional travel required
- Strong working knowledge of employer-sponsored retirement plans.
- Experience in providing financial education and conducting group presentations.
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable to changing environments.
- Ability to work cohesively with a team and interact effectively with clients and participants.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, with a strong emphasis on financial education and retirement planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
