Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business management or an equivalent business-related discipline.
  • At least 14 years of experience in government weapon systems acquisitions and program management and/or contracts management within the Department of Defense.
  • Experience with the Department of Defense Major Capability Acquisition System process.
  • Experience with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process.
  • Experience with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution process.
  • An active Department of Defense security clearance adjudicated for Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility and enrollment in the Continuous Evaluation program, if applicable.
  • Willingness to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs and to consent to a polygraph examination.
Responsibilities
  • Advise program and project managers regarding acquisition strategies, schedules, contracting, budgeting, and execution.
  • Prepare periodic status reports; coordinate and execute periodic staff meetings and technical interchange meetings; and develop acquisition plans, schedules, and executive program briefings.
  • Develop, draft, and coordinate overarching program planning and execution documents prescribed by or tailored from DoD Instruction 5000.02, the Acquisition Framework, and relevant Department of Defense, Air Force, and local unit policies pertaining to rapid prototyping.
  • Provide technical and programmatic assessments of contractor design and milestone reviews to assess progress, risks, issues, and the ability to achieve mission requirements.
  • Provide program element coordination, staffing, and monitoring.
  • Advise and assist the government customer regarding funding commitments, obligations, and expenditures.
  • Draft and support delivery of program funding documentation and monthly financial reports.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in business management, technical management, and/or engineering.
  • Professional certifications such as the Project Management Institute Project Management Professional certification.
  • Experience in the National Security Space and/or Space Control mission area.
