About Our Internship Program:
Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.
The Job:
During your internship, you will have the opportunity to support Human Resources with key activities including:
- Provide support with employee engagement initiatives.
- Administer new hire process by scheduling phone & onsite interviews for qualified candidates as needed and ensuring completion of pre-employment screenings for prospective new hires.
- Post jobs and review resumes in the applicant tracking system.
- Utilize creative outlets to source for candidates.
- Attend local career fairs in the area.
- Track all open positions and status of open positions.
- Work with local organizations to establish a partnerships and source candidates.
- Establish a process for interviewing walk-in candidates.
- Update HRIS system with new and relevant data and maintain confidential employee records.
- Other duties as assigned.
As a Human Resources Intern, you will have the opportunity to explore and understand the various HR areas, including but not limited to Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Compensation, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion.
The Person:
The ideal Human Resources intern candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Be a rising junior or senior.
- Actively pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology or Business Administration.
- Maintains strong academic credentials.
- Proven leadership and active participant in collaborative environments with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.
