Textron Systems and Howe & Howe debut RIPSAWTM M1 UGV technology demonstrator. April 30, 2026 Textron Systems Corporation, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, and its subsidiary Howe & Howe Inc., today debuted the RIPSAWTM M1 uncrewed ground vehicle (UGV) technology demonstrator at the 2026 Modern Day Marine exposition. The M1 UGV is designed to support U.S. Marine Corps missions of littoral mobility and uncrewed teaming concept of operations (CONOPS). The M1 technology demonstrator is the next iteration in the company's Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)-designed UGVs, demonstrating the capacity and capability to scale its family of UGVs. The technology demonstrator is the first variant in the M1 line of vehicles, designed as a robotic force multiplier for the Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) and Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) to support Force Design 2030. The UGV can support target missions including hard kill counter-unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition (RSTA). It can also serve as a loitering munition launch platform. The vehicle is envisioned to extend the reach and lethality of the Marines' existing systems to keep personnel out of harm's way and protect heavier, and more expensive, ground vehicles. With decades of uncrewed systems leadership and millions of operational hours across domains, Textron Systems continues to draw on its deep experience to deliver reliable, mission-ready innovation. With a commitment to advancing modular, autonomous technologies that strengthen warfighter effectiveness, Textron Systems continues to shape the future of uncrewed ground operations. Textron Aviation has secured its first defence contract for the Cessna SkyCourier, with Belgium selecting the aircraft for special missions. The company also introduced an In-Flight Operable Door option for specialised operations. Textron's shares have declined 7.67% over 30 days but maintain a 44.04% one-year total shareholder return. The stock currently trades at $87.68, below some analyst fair value estimates of $98.95, suggesting an 11.4% undervaluation. The company is restructuring its Industrial segment, including selling its powersports business, which analysts expect will optimise operations and improve margins. However, concerns remain about Industrial segment volume weakness and profit pressures despite revenue growth.
Textron's updated fair value estimate stands at $98.95, nearly unchanged from the previous $99.01, whilst analysts remain divided on the company's outlook. Jefferies raised its price target to $115, citing 20 basis points of industrial margin expansion in 2025. Bernstein increased its target to $108, calling the share price reaction to a Q4 earnings per share miss an overreaction, noting revenue of $4.18 billion beat the $4.08 billion consensus. However, Wells Fargo initiated coverage with a neutral view, signalling balanced risk and reward. Textron's board authorised a new share repurchase programme for up to 25 million shares on 11 February 2026. The company projects 2026 revenues of approximately $15.5 billion versus $14.8 billion in 2025, with GAAP earnings per share from continuing operations ranging between $5.39 and $5.59.
Spotlight on Mark & Carolyn McGinn. Mar 30, 2026. I recently had the pleasure of visiting McGinn's Grapes and Grains, owned by Mark and Carolyn McGinn, and it turned out to be far more than just a stop. It was an experience rooted in history, innovation and genuine passion for agriculture. On a beautiful sunny day, I hopped on a golf cart with Carolyn for a tour of the farm. As Sedgwick County Harvest Hub made its way across the land, it quickly became clear this is not just any farm; it's a place where generations of hard work meet forward-thinking ideas. Mark's family history is deeply tied to the land. As fifth-generation farmers, their story began when their ancestors emigrated from Ireland following the potato famine, eventually settling in Harvey and Sedgwick Counties. That legacy continues today, with the farm producing traditional Kansas crops like corn, soybeans and wheat using a combination of dryland and irrigation practices. After retiring from Textron, Mark and Carolyn, who dedicated 20 years of service as a Kansas state Senator, chose to take their farm in a new direction by exploring specialty agriculture. "After retirement we decided to do some of the things I wanted to do," Carolyn says. What they've built is both impressive and inspiring. Their vineyard features several grape varieties, including Chambourcin, Vidal Blanc, Chardonel. These grapes are sold to Grace Hill Winery, and thanks to their producer license, the McGinns are also able to host wine tastings and sell wines directly on-site. It adds a whole new layer to the farm, one that invites visitors to truly enjoy the setting. The diversity of their operation doesn't stop at grapes. They've embraced year-round growing in a hoop house, producing lettuce and spinach during the winter months, while summer brings hydroponically grown tomatoes and cucumbers. It's a great example of how modern techniques can complement traditional farming to create a sustainable, productive system. They also raise Katahdin lamb, offering high-quality meat directly from the farm, perfect for those looking to source local, especially around holidays like Easter. What makes McGinn's Grapes and Grains even more unique is how they've opened their farm to the community. The property includes a wedding and event venue, as well as an Airbnb, giving guests the chance to experience farm life firsthand in a peaceful, scenic setting. For Carolyn, creating that experience is intentional. "Peaceful country living on a working farm - that's the experience we want them to have," she shared when describing what guests can expect during their stay. It's an opportunity to slow down and connect with rural life in a way that feels both relaxing and authentic. And Carolyn's commitment to Kansas hasn't slowed down. In July 2025, she joined Gov. Laura Kelly's administration as a special adviser on water, continuing her work on one of the state's most important issues. Visits like this are a great reminder of how agriculture continues to evolve while staying connected to its roots. McGinn's Grapes and Grains is a perfect example of that balance - honoring tradition while embracing new opportunities.
