Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing complex hardware programs as a Technical Program Manager or Engineering Lead
  • Experience in a hardware development environment
  • Experience with launching hardware products and hardware product lifecycle
  • Experience working with supply chain and vendors
  • Experience transitioning new products into volume production with contract manufacturers
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, etc
  • Experience with task management tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc
Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day development for the Aurora internal Lidar Program
  • Create development timelines considering top down program constraints and bottoms up technical development feasibility. Define hardware build schedules for engineering samples, validation samples and vehicle build deliverables
  • Partner with the Lidar Photonics Integrated Circuit Solutions (PICS), Lidar R&D, Hardware Product Engineering (HPE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Embedded Software, Integration, Validation & Verification (V&V), and Reliability technical lead managers (TLMs), and represent the relevant HW teams at weekly cross-functional meetings
  • Participate in and contribute to technical design reviews, design analysis, safety analysis, and security analysis activities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, global supply chain, and production to develop partnerships with vendors and contract manufacturers
  • Pro-actively schedule meetings or discussions with cross-functional partners to help unblock the engineering teams and come up with mitigation plans
  • Provide program status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for weekly Modules & HW program reviews and updates
  • Assess requirements for HW system definition and decomposition into HW products, facilitate selection of the best options, and coordinate the team to successfully evolve tools and operational processes to achieve them
  • Collaborate closely with other hardware development teams, policy leads, operations, and triage specialists on technical matters to ensure the hardware team's work aligns to broader organizational development
  • Define dependencies and resolve conflicts related to HW maturity, availability, quantity, and allocation of development, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders, and engage and energize the project teams to achieve aggressive goals
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with optical or electrical integrated circuit development
  • Experience with in house sensor development, preferably Lidar or Radar
  • Experience with photonics development
  • Experience in Lidar, Sensors, AV, or the automotive industry
  • Hands on hardware development experience
