- Identify how the MMIS application will function at the disaster recovery site.
- Assist in creating a comprehensive business continuity plan, including the long-term disaster recovery solution and a plan for continued updating and maintenance.
- Assist in creating and modifying disaster recovery and business continuity test plans, test conditions, and schedules.
- Facilitate collaboration between the disaster recovery vendor and operations and maintenance vendor in creating the disaster recovery site.
- Assist in conducting and coordinating disaster recovery and business continuity testing and analyzing the results.
- Develop an annual disaster recovery and business continuity testing plan and schedule and a risk management strategy.
- Develop and aid the transition of disaster recovery activities to the internal operations and maintenance organization.
- Develop a handoff plan for future phases of MMIS disaster recovery.
- Own the overall system design.
- Document development requirements for database, applications, and operating system environments.
- Consult with end users to test and debug applications to meet client needs.
- Provide expertise in all aspects of application design and development.
- May conduct training for information technology staff.
- Perform complex technical tasks and plan and accomplish goals using extensive experience and judgment.
- An advanced degree in the area of specialty may be expected.
