$9M Ashley settlement ends class action lawsuit over mattress fiberglass exposure risk.

$9M Ashley settlement ends class action lawsuit over mattress fiberglass exposure risk. Todd v. Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC, et al. A $9M Ashley settlement ends a lawsuit over the use of fiberglass as a fire-retardant material for the inner sock covering the foam in certain mattresses. Defendant(s) Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC, Ashley Global Retail, LLC and Resident Home LLC have agreed to a $9,000,000 settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit over the retailers' use of fiberglass as a fire retardant in the inner sock covering the foam in certain mattresses, posing a potential risk of fiberglass exposure should the cover be removed. The $9 million Ashley fiberglass class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on March 19, 2026. The settlement covers all consumers who, between October 1, 2017 and June 30, 2024, purchased an affected mattress in the United States that was designed, manufactured, produced, distributed, sold or marketed by the retailers and contained fiberglass as a fire-retardant material in the inner sock of the mattress. Consumers can determine their eligibility for the class action settlement by browsing the list of affected mattresses, which include those from the Nectar, Siena, DreamCloud and Ashley brands. Approximately 6.2 million consumers nationwide are covered by the Ashley Furniture settlement, court documents state. The court-approved website for the Ashley mattress settlement can be found at MattressClassActionSettlement.com. Settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form can receive a voucher for use on a single purchase from AshleyFurniture.com, NectarSleep.com, DreamCloudSleep.com, or SienaSleep.com. Each class member who submits a timely, valid claim form can receive one voucher per affected mattress purchased. The amount of each class member's voucher will depend on the total number of valid claims filed and will be an equal share of the settlement fund. To file an Ashley mattress settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and log in using the unique ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Class members who did not receive a notice may still file an online claim form here by entering their contact details, information about their mattress, and any supporting documentation, such as sales receipts, store records or photos of a mattress tag or label. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form to print, fill out and return by mail to the settlement administrator. All Ashley mattress settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by July 17, 2026. The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the mattress fiberglass settlement following a hearing on September 24, 2026. Vouchers will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved. The Ashley class action lawsuit alleged that the retailers - Ashley Furniture, Ashley Global Retail and Resident Home - manufactured and distributed mattresses equipped with an inner sock containing fiberglass as a fire-retardant material. The suit claimed that Ashley failed to warn consumers that the fiberglass can pass through the cover or be released into the surrounding environment should the cover be removed, potentially causing property damage and/or serious adverse health effects.
