Requirements
- Strong Nutanix experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in information technology support.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology.
- Experience with host migration, including removing hosts from existing ESXi hosts, migrating virtual machines, and restoring hosts.
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems, user administration, file systems, software, and services.
- Understanding of servers and storage RAID configurations.
- Experience managing Active Directory, including domain backup and recovery and Group Policy Object setup.
- In-depth knowledge of Nutanix hypervisor migration best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of VMware hypervisor migration to the Nutanix AHV hypervisor.
- Knowledge of Nutanix cluster deployment.
- Understanding of fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting, including DHCP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
- Understanding of security principles, access control lists, and encryption.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, KornShell, or Perl.
- Experience monitoring system health and performance, identifying bottlenecks, and supporting optimization efforts.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and performing system, application, and data backup and restoration.
- Experience installing and managing patches and firmware.
- Knowledge of Darksite patching for Nutanix hypervisors, components, and other hypervisors.
Responsibilities
- Administer Windows Server and Linux operating systems, users, file systems, software, and services.
- Manage Active Directory, including domain backup and recovery and Group Policy Object setup.
- Perform Nutanix and VMware hypervisor migrations to the Nutanix AHV hypervisor.
- Deploy Nutanix clusters.
- Troubleshoot networking issues involving DHCP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
- Automate routine tasks with scripting.
- Monitor system health and performance, identify bottlenecks, and lead optimization efforts.
- Plan disaster recovery and perform backup and restoration for systems, applications, and data.
- Install and manage patches and firmware.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience baselining systems using Industrial Defender.
- Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance and its effect on data center best practices.
