NexThreat is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer III. Tasks will include designing, implementing, and maintaining security systems; conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; developing and enforcing security policies and procedures; and responding to security incidents. The role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices, often with experience in areas like network security, cloud security, endpoint protection, and incident response.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

Required Certification:

• DoD 8570.01-M in accordance with (IAW) DFARS 252.239-7001 Baseline Certification, minimum IAT Level III.

Experience:

• A combined total of Ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in all of the following functional areas:

o Computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies;

o National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) Program requirements and mission, ship install requirements, and protocols;

o Risk Management Framework (RMF), and the implementation of Cybersecurity and IA boundary defense techniques and various IA-enabled appliances. Examples of these appliances and applications are Firewalls, Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Switch/Routers, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), EMASS and, Endpoint Security Solution (ESS);

o Performing STIG implementation;

o Performing vulnerability assessments with the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution tool;

o Remediating vulnerability findings to include implementing vendor patches on both Linux and Windows Operating systems
