Firebird Music partners with artists by acquiring stakes in the businesses that support their careers, such as management firms, labels, and publishers, rather than buying individual song rights. The firm provides capital and access to a scaleable ecosystem of resources—marketing, data analytics, and digital platforms including gaming and AI—to power artist growth while letting creators retain independence. Investments are made through majority stakes using cash and stock to align interests, enabling a unified growth model across music, touring, and merchandise (as seen in the Yungblud deal creating YB Inc.). This approach differentiates Firebird from competitors by focusing on whole businesses that underpin artists and by combining financial backing with artist-services expertise. The company's goal is to expand artists' careers and brands at scale through strategic investments and a shared-growth framework that leverages its network and resources.

What believers are saying

  • Goodlife joined March 24, 2026, adding Fred again.. and dance-music credibility.
  • The June 30, 2026 Ares deal expands Firebird's buying power immediately.
  • Over 1,000 artists across partners create cross-sell opportunities in touring, merch, and catalogs.

What critics are saying

  • Firebird depends on volatile artist relationships; Goodlife and Red Light can defect after 2026.

Firebird Music launches $750M catalogue fund backed by Ares and Raine Group

Firebird Music has launched a $750 million catalogue fund backed by Ares Management and Raine Group. The fund comprises approximately $350 million in equity capital from Ares, Firebird and Raine, plus $400 million in debt financing from Pinnacle. Founded in 2022 by former KKR partner Nat Zilkha and former Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard, Firebird has acquired stakes in Red Light Management, Transgressive Records and Tape Room, amongst others. The company backs management for over 1,000 artists, including Sabrina Carpenter. As part of the deal, Ares funds took a minority equity stake in Firebird, with Ares managing director Jeevan Sagoo joining Firebird's board. Raine Group remains Firebird's largest single investor. The company previously raised $300 million in January.
