Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Participation in orientation training and attendance at mandatory in-services and other department-specified training in-services.
  • Ability to use the Community’s computerized time clock system.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to verbally communicate with residents, staff, and the general public in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Protect residents, employees, and OFSC property.
  • Maintain floors and perform light maintenance for buildings and cottages, as well as security and possible light housekeeping duties.
  • Pick up the walkie-talkie in the designated area at the beginning of the shift and return it at the end of the shift.
  • Contact the Building Services Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor at the start of the shift for information about emergencies, facility problems, unusual equipment status, and walkie-talkie functionality.
  • Check all external doors from the exterior during the first external round.
  • Conduct regular rounds of all hallways and lounges on every floor of the Main building and conduct external rounds covering the building and the total perimeter of the OFSC grounds.
  • Perform assigned work duties.
  • In the event of an intrusion, immediately contact the police by calling 911, the Health Center charge nurse, and the Executive Director or Administrator by phone or walkie-talkie.
