Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM.
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government [select Secret or Top Secret] clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
  • Understanding of aircraft performance analysis with general knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Understanding of conceptual air vehicle sizing analysis
  • 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Python, Matlab, C++, Fortran, Linux
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM with 3 years of experience
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (that has a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or is under continuous evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Complete understanding of aircraft performance analysis with general knowledge of related disciplines. Experience assessing mission performance, turn performance, kinematic maneuvering, takeoff and landing
  • Complete understanding of conceptual air vehicle sizing analysis
  • 4+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Python, Matlab, C++, Fortran, Linux
  • Air vehicle or performance/sizing lead experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary design synthesis and analysis of advanced manned and unmanned air vehicles demonstrating technical expertise and knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Tasks include takeoff/landing, mission and point performance characteristics of candidate aircraft designs as well as design synthesis and optimization of vehicles to meet operational requirements
  • Conduct vehicle sizing and performance trade studies to define and evaluate advanced concepts, identify technology requirements, perform parametric trade studies and provide design guidance to the other team disciplines.
  • Conduct competitive vehicle performance assessments of current U.S. and foreign inventory designs may also be required, as well as flight test data analysis and correlations to performance models.
  • Develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems in an imaginative, thorough, and practicable manner while also documenting and present results.
  • Interact and brief external customers, as well as serve as a technical lead.
  • Support vehicle performance and sizing analysis for vehicle programs from government organizations such as Air Force, Navy, NASA, DARPA and others.
  • Provide analysis, guide design teams to execute program goals, support proposal and business development activities.

  • Must be versatile, applying technical solutions to a wide range of problems in an imaginative, thorough, and practicable manner.
  • Experience with aircraft carrier suitability analysis, including but not limited to launch & recovery, bolter, waveoff, and nose wheel lift off
  • Experience assessing mission performance, turn performance, kinematic maneuvering, takeoff and landing. Experience in aircraft sizing
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-3013B
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary design, analysis, and optimization (MDAO)
  • Experience modeling VTOL (Vertical Takeoff Landing) vehicle configurations
  • Experience with generation of carpet plots and implementing numerical methods
  • Familiarity developing python packages and working in a Linux terminal.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Air vehicle or performance/sizing lead experience
  • Experience with aircraft carrier suitability analysis, including but not limited to launch & recovery, bolter, waveoff, and nose wheel lift off
  • Experience applying MIL-STD-3013B rules
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary design, analysis, and optimization (MDAO)
  • Experience modeling VTOL (Vertical Takeoff Landing) vehicle configurations
  • Experience with generation of carpet plots and implementing numerical methods
  • Experience developing python packages and working in a Linux terminal.
  • Experience with Force and Moment Accounting system
