Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions quickly.
  • Experience training and mentoring junior operators within a production team.
  • Ability to execute batch production processes with precision and comply with established formulas and quality standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in material handling, measuring, sampling, packaging, and shipping logistics.
  • Proficiency using computerized control systems for equipment operation and process monitoring.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points compliance.
  • High level of independence and initiative, with the ability to make informed decisions to optimize production workflow.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple production orders efficiently.
  • Strong mathematical skills for precise measuring, scaling, and batch adjustments.
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Two to three years of experience in a blending, fermentation, or production environment, with a strong understanding of industrial mixing processes.
  • Ability to work in wet, humid, dusty, and noisy production conditions and handle airborne particles and chemicals used in fermentation facilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, scooping, kneeling, and crouching as required.
  • Use of the company-issued uniform and Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory.
  • Adherence to company safety procedures and regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Operate all blending and packaging equipment at an advanced proficiency level while ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and work with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Blending Operator I team members, sharing best practices and reinforcing operational standards.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and foster continuous improvement.
  • Gather, weigh, and verify ingredients for blend processing to ensure batch consistency and compliance with production specifications.
  • Select and configure the appropriate blender based on order size, ingredient characteristics, and machine capacity.
  • Operate precision measuring instruments and automated blending systems to achieve product quality.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and submit blend samples to Quality Control and third-party testing.
  • Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment according to production orders, maintaining documentation and traceability.
  • Maintain detailed production logs for inventory tracking, material usage, and lot traceability.
  • Oversee facility cleanliness, post-maintenance sanitation, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Control department to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points standards.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and reduce waste.
  • Lead safety initiatives, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and adherence to workplace safety regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Relevant technical certifications or training programs.
  • Previous audit or quality assurance exposure.
