Dusty Robotics builds robotic solutions for construction, with its flagship Dusty FieldPrinter that automates on-site layout. The FieldPrinter prints and marks layout information on the job site, translating design plans into physical markers and guides to improve accuracy, clarity, and speed. The system operates through direct sales to general contractors, drywall, and mechanical firms, plus service contracts for maintenance and support; revenue comes from selling FieldPrinter units and ongoing maintenance services. What sets Dusty apart is its specialization in on-site robotic layout automation for construction, its proven adoption by top builders, and a combination of hardware sales with ongoing services that keep现场 operations aligned with project plans. The company’s goal is to boost efficiency and cut costs on construction projects by enabling precise, fast, and clearly communicated layout work across the US.

Ai-Backed Robots Roll Through Seattle Construction Site, Speeding Build Process And Improving Safety

BOT or NOT? This special series explores the evolving relationship between humans and machines, examining the ways that robots, artificial intelligence and automation are impacting our work and lives. Two Didge robots from Nextera Robotics, outside the Kaye apartments development in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. (Skanska Photo)A couple of high-tech workers are part of the crew helping to construct a new residential tower in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. They roll through the place, take a bunch of pictures, upload everything to an artificial intelligence platform, and in the process speed up the project and improve safety along the way.Skanska, the project development and construction company with offices in Seattle, is using two autonomous robots from Boston-based Nextera Robotics as it helps build out Kaye, a 31-story apartment building. The pilot program is the first of its kind on the West Coast.Through the use of high-resolution, 360-degree photography, the Didge robots give architects and Skanska’s development team near-constant eyes on a project site.Stewart Germain, Skanska’s director of innovation.
