Requirements
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice, as issued by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
- One year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
- CPR and SAMA certification must be attained during new-hire orientation.
- Ability to work the day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with rotating weekends.
- Reliability, flexibility, teamwork, communication skills, and customer service ability.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the appropriate level of patient care on assigned units and maintain milieu safety.
- Collaborate with medical staff and patient-care personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
- Promote a supportive, teamwork-oriented environment.
- Perform patient assessments and patient rounding.
- Manage medications and complete accurate documentation.
- Manage the milieu.
- Use team leadership skills, provide crisis intervention, and deliver health education to patients and families.
