Medical Assistant

Job Description

Clinical Duties:

• Accompany patients into exam rooms to obtain medical history, including allergies, medications and history of chronic illness.
• Efficiently use EMR for documentation.
• Call patients with lab results
• Return patient calls to answer an array of questions, after guidance from provider.
• Clean and stock rooms
• Sterilize instruments and wash/fold patient gowns
• Assist providers during procedures and minor surgeries.

Administrative Duties:

• Answer incoming calls using a multiple line phone system.
• Triage Phone calls to Medical Assistants and Providers
• Schedule Appointments, make referrals, send medical records
• Check patients in and out using electronic medical record system, verifying insurance and collecting payments as needed.
• Reconcile end of night reports
• Provide exceptional customer service

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer and math skills
• Well organized and ability to multi task
• Willingness to take direction and learn new tasks as needed
• Work efficiently as part of a team.

Job Type:

• Full-time

Experience:

• 1 + year experience in dermatology or medical office preferred.

Education:

•   High school diploma or higher
