We are excited to announce an opening for an Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our team in San Diego. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving financial strategy and delivering high-impact insights for our Commercial and Corporate functions. The Associate Director, FP&A, will act as a strategic financial partner, providing expert guidance and leadership on financial, operational, and strategic matters across various internal teams.
In this role, the Associate Director, FP&A will leverage their deep understanding of the life sciences sector to shape key business decisions, ensure the achievement of financial goals, and optimize capital deployment. They will be a key player in navigating complex financial landscapes and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to advance our business objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Drive the financial planning cycle, including quarterly financial forecasts, annual budgets, long-range plans, scenario planning, and performance monitoring
- Act as a key business partner across Commercial and Corporate teams, providing strategic financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and strategic initiatives
- Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations
- Evaluate the financial implications of strategic decisions, operational changes, and external partnerships, proposing mitigation strategies as necessary
- Develop / maintain a strong partnership with the other internal groups and Finance colleagues to develop and share best practices
- Support evaluation, design, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and system upgrades
- Support ad hoc analyses and special projects across the organization, providing timely and accurate financial insights
- Work closely with the accounting team and ensure the complete, accurate and timely processing of the monthly close process
- The role requires comfort with ambiguity, collaborative problem-solving, and the capability to manage complex work streams with multiple stakeholders
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record and the ability to function in a rapidly growing environment and demonstrate creativity, select ability, and innovative strategies pertaining to all financial matters is essential
- The ability to provide the senior executives with the necessary financial and modeling information to make effective decisions
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, or a related field of study with successful experience as finance business partner
- Minimum 8 years(w/o Master’s) or 6+ years (with Master’s) years of relevant experience in biotech or life sciences industry
- Proven financial analysis and revenue budgeting, forecasting and analysis background for global commercial organizations
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work within a team, sharing ideas for best practices and process improvements
- Ability to communicate technical or complex issues with clarity to non-financial individuals
- Must be proactive and possess the ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially related to financial system integration
- Experience using financial forecasting software such as NetSuite, Hyperion, SAP, and Oracle
- Possess a basic understanding of valuation principals

Base Compensation Pay Range
