Seesaw launches AI-powered assessment tool to automatically grade student responses

Seesaw, an elementary learning platform serving over 25 million users globally, has launched Show What You Know, an AI-powered assessment tool that automatically grades open-ended student responses. The feature evaluates multimodal submissions — including drawings, voice recordings, and videos — against teacher-defined rubrics, generating scores and summaries to help educators identify where students need support. The tool aims to make formative assessment more efficient by reducing manual review time whilst capturing richer evidence of student thinking than traditional multiple-choice tests. It automatically evaluates responses and surfaces insights about student understanding and misconceptions. Show What You Know is integrated directly into Seesaw's existing platform and began rolling out to customers on 5 August 2026. The launch follows Seesaw AI receiving the CODiE Award for Best AI Solution for Education earlier in 2026.
