Development Operations (DevOps)
  • 5+ years of experience working with production systems
  • Experience with modern DevOps tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and Datadog
  • Experience in a scripting language like Python, Ruby, Javascript, or PHP
  • Ability and desire to dive into unfamiliar domains and research new cloud native offerings to adopt
  • Experience collaborating with others in order to carry technical projects to completion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills so as to understand the needs of the team and help folks achieve their goals
  • Lead the DevOps team in researching and building a new self-service observability offering using cloud native tools
  • Proactively engage with product and engineering teams to understand their data analytics needs, then architect a system that will scale with our needs for the next two years
  • Work with engineering leadership and product management to help build reasonable and achievable reliability goals for a core service
  • Run on-call trainings to help engineers support the services that they build
  • Work with engineering and product leaders to understand the roadmap and determine how DevOps can enable that growth
  • Lead the DevOps team in researching, building, and adopting new tools to help improve reliability, performance, and velocity
  • Give talks, lunch and learns, demos, and pair program with engineers across teams to help folks use these tools
  • Advise and mentor engineers via thoughtful code reviews, planning discussions, technical documentation, and formal mentorship
  • Help grow our team by participating in the recruitment and hiring of top engineering talent
