Neuberger Berman is seeking an experienced communications leader to manage media relations and actively guide the firm’s external communications. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), the candidate will play a critical role in managing and enhancing Neuberger’s brand reputation, ensuring consistent messaging across external communication channels. He/she will engage with the broadcast and online media to proactive promote the firm and its client offerings. He/she will also serve as an advisor to the firm’s CEO and senior leadership, providing advice and counsel on all matters related to external communications and reputation management.
This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can collaborate across teams, manage complex communications priorities, and lead initiatives as a global leader in investment management. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in media relations, executive visibility, and crisis management based on a deep understanding of the financial services industry. Key Responsibilities
Lead global external communications, shaping earned media campaigns.
Leverage deep contacts with journalists covering investment and financial markets.
Follow current markets and trends to create narratives across broadcast, digital and social media channels.
Media Relations
Serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior leadership and act as the firm’s chief spokesperson when appropriate.
Build and maintain relationships with top-tier financial, business, and industry media to ensure favorable and accurate coverage.
Develop and execute media strategies that promote the firm’s investment capabilities, thought leadership, and other key initiatives. Write speeches and press releases; develop keynote presentations and coordinate the creation of other creative assets.
Monitor media coverage and manage press inquiries, ensuring timely and effective responses.
Executive Visibility:
Design and implement a comprehensive strategy to promote Neuberger’s brand by enhancing the visibility of the firm’s senior leadership team, portfolio managers and client coverage leadership.
Position company executives as industry leaders through speaking engagements, media interviews, and authored articles. Identify and leverage opportunities for executives to participate in high-profile events and forums.
Working with Marketing partners, create thought leading content for various communications channels and devise media amplification plans.
Crisis & Issues Management:
Lead the development and execution of crisis communication plans to protect and enhance Neuberger Berman’s reputation.
Anticipate and mitigate potential reputational risks and complex public affairs issues through proactive planning and monitoring.
Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership during crises, ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
Prepare and train spokespersons for crisis situations.
Agency & Vendor Management
Manage relationships with global PR agencies and third-party vendors to ensure strategic alignment and maximize impact.

Candidate Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of corporate communications experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the asset management industry covering both public and private markets.
Skills & Expertise:
Proven track record in developing and executing successful communications strategies that align with business objectives.
Extensive experience in media relations, including building relationships with top-tier financial and business media and managing reputational crises with professionalism.
Strong understanding of the asset management industry, trends, product design and the regulatory environment impacting the industry.
Demonstrated familiarity in digital communications, content strategy, and social media platforms.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
Experience partnering with senior executives, with the ability to provide strategic counsel and navigate complex organizational dynamics.

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $200,000-$250,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
