Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant cybersecurity-related major and 12 years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of comprehensive cybersecurity operations leadership and management experience.
  • Expert-level delivery experience and knowledge of incident response concepts, operations, outputs, and maturity levels.
  • Expert-level delivery experience and knowledge of forensics concepts, operations, outputs, and maturity levels.
  • Expert-level delivery experience and knowledge of ticket management tools and practices, troubleshooting, investigations, computer networking, and operating systems.
  • Expert-level technical ability and aptitude demonstrated through prior technical experience and accomplishment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the response for significant and escalated incidents, coordinating tasks across the incident response team and ensuring timely completion.
  • Oversee incident triage by determining scope, urgency, and potential operational impact.
  • Develop containment, eradication, and recovery strategies for high-severity incidents.
  • Perform real-time monitoring and alerting for potential threats using enterprise security tools, including security information and event management systems and cloud service provider tools.
  • Identify and categorize security incidents using advanced analytics and correlation techniques.
  • Lead threat-hunting operations focused on detecting advanced persistent threats and other cyber threats.
  • Coordinate efforts between incident response teams across the enterprise to provide full-scale detection and incident response.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex incidents and provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, counterintelligence, and law enforcement teams on insider threat investigations and other sensitive matters.
  • Conduct malware analysis and reverse engineering of suspicious payloads and network traffic.
  • Perform digital forensics across host-based, network, cloud, and mobile device platforms.
  • Acquire and analyze full disk images and other volatile data during investigations while adhering to NIST SP 800-86 guidelines.
  • Develop or enhance incident response and detection processes using Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response platforms.
  • Create custom detection signatures and automate response workflows.
  • Lead research into new technologies and tools to improve the organization's security posture.
  • Develop detailed After-Action Reports following significant incidents, summarizing actions taken and lessons learned.
  • Create executive summaries and provide regular incident updates for senior leadership.
  • Lead and document monthly Lessons Learned meetings for significant incidents and track action items to completion.
  • Participate in and lead incident response tabletop exercises with national and agency-level stakeholders.
  • Improve incident response processes by documenting lessons learned from exercises and real-world events.
  • Support counterintelligence and insider threat activities through advanced analytics, forensics, and investigation support.
  • Analyze suspicious emails, websites, and downloads for malicious behaviors and escalate findings as necessary.
  • Develop content for security information and event management systems, including correlation algorithms and threat detection signatures.
  • Assist in evaluating and integrating new security tools to improve threat detection and response capabilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • One or more information security certifications, such as GCIH, GCFA, OSCP, GPEN, GSEC, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner, CompTIA Security Analytics Expert, CCTHP, CySA+, or Security+.
  • Project management certifications, such as CAPM, PMP, or ITIL.
  • Current security clearance.

Edgewater wins IT managed services contract with Argonne National Laboratory.

Edgewater wins IT managed services contract with Argonne National Laboratory. Edgewater Federal Solutions has won a 5-year contract to be the IT managed service provider for Argonne National Laboratory. Argonne is operated by UChicago Argonne, LLC, for the Energy Department. The 1,500-acre campus employs over 4,500 people, including approximately 1,600 scientists and engineers. Under the contract, Edgewater will deliver comprehensive managed IT services to support Argonne's critical research mission across energy, environment, national security and STEM disciplines, the company said. "We are honored to partner with Argonne National Laboratory in support of its vital research mission," said Rodger Jones, Energy+ president of Edgewater Federal Solutions. "This award expands our footprint across the DOE's national laboratory complex. Our growing presence in this space underscores our commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and mission-focused IT services that enable scientific discovery at the highest level." Edgewater's services include service desk operations, on-site and remote end-user support, integrated IT and audio-visual services, and management of Argonne's ITSM platform to provide a scalable, flexible and resilient hybrid support model.
