Requirements
- Four to five years of experience in the semiconductor domain.
- A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- At least one year of computer-aided design experience with Creo.
- Experience with product lifecycle management systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design for ion implanter subsystems, including process chambers, beamline structures, wafer handling, and vacuum chambers.
- Conduct design reviews and apply Design for X principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Perform hand calculations and finite element analysis using Creo Simulate and ANSYS for structural integrity and reliability.
- Execute detailed computer-aided design work, engineering drawings, and bill of materials management using Creo, AutoCAD, Windchill, and Glovia.
- Develop precision motion mechanisms and complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Perform finite element and computational fluid dynamics analyses covering thermal, structural, and modal behavior, and validate designs through prototyping.
- Drive manufacturability improvements, reliability growth, and cost reduction.
- Define test requirements, coordinate test execution, and document engineering test plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional systems, electrical, controls, physics, manufacturing, and field service teams.
- Ensure compliance with SEMI S2, SEMI S8, and internal safety standards.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with end stations and wafer handling systems.
- Semiconductor equipment design and vacuum system expertise.
- Experience with reverse engineering and precision motion systems.
