What believers are saying

  • Empierus delivered over $36 million in 2025 savings, validating Vizient's indirect-spend strategy.
  • April 2026 launches tied purchasing data to patient outcomes, deepening workflow dependence.
  • 2026 margin pressure keeps hospitals buying Vizient's savings tools despite reimbursement strain.

What critics are saying

  • Endure Industries lost in January 2026, but antitrust pressure on GPO leverage persists.
  • Hospitals increasingly buy directly from manufacturers, weakening Vizient's contracting moat by 2026.
  • If member hospitals prioritize direct sourcing, Vizient's purchasing-power model erodes over time.
