Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in a relevant area is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in contract management or a closely related field, with at least 3 years in a senior role managing federal and commercial contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and commercial contract law, regulations, and practices. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of the complexities involved in both types of contracts.
  • Proven expertise in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing complex contracts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively negotiating with and influencing others.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. As appropriate, contribute to or influence company policies.
  • Spearhead the entire contracts lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Ensure that contracts are accurately executed according to organizational guidelines and legal requirements, managing all documentation and signature processes efficiently.
  • Conduct risk analysis on potential contracts, identifying areas of potential risk and proposing mitigation strategies to senior management.
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on contractual matters, ensuring timely review and approval/reconciliation of variations.
  • Provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff, including training new employees in contractual processes as needed.
  • Support contract negotiation, providing detailed attention to financial terms, performance clauses, and legal liabilities.
  • Ensure contract renewal, extension, termination, and negotiation processes are managed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and maintain a database for tracking contracts, ensuring all contract-related information is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
  • Stay abreast of changes in contract law and regulations, particularly those affecting federal and commercial contracts, to ensure compliance across all contracts.
