JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Chemistry Department is seeking to hire part-time student assistants to work with various aspects of their online General Chemistry eBook project. The duties of the Assistants are to: 

• help with internet and literature searching
• data collection and organization
• copying of materials
• entry of materials into electronic format 
• minor editing of html pages
• a small amount of image editing (chem structure, equations)
•  carry out various administrative tasks connected with the project

Selected candidates need to have a chemistry background and should be comfortable with computers. They must also be willing to learn new computer programs. General knowledge of web-based applications is preferred. The project is well suited for students who are interested in chemical education and would like to explore options for the best way to present chemical information to students.

Hours are flexible to accommodate student’s academic schedule. Applications will be received on an ongoing basis and reviewed as the need arises.
