The Opportunity
The Data Operational Resilience Specialist is responsible for the development of the Global Data Technology’s approach to ensure data resilience readiness, maintain and enhance crisis management, business continuity and operational resilience practice, ensuring that it is fit for purpose and addresses the key risks of crisis and business disruptions! In this role, the incumbent will develop a sound approach to business continuity and operational resilience working within the risk and controls framework, balancing the needs of the business, and Operational Risk Management (ORM) standards and maintain regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Interpret Business Continuity and Operational Resilience regulations, legislation, publications, policies, rules, and guidance and optimally incorporate the same into Global Data Technology’s strategy and plans along with education for key collaborators and partners
- Responsible for supporting the creation and maintenance of sound crisis response and business continuity management and operational resilience plans
- Develop BCM/DR/Resilience roadmap for key functions across our business,
- Establish process/procedures, cost analysis and controls in partnership with key partners from ORM, ETS and EDL Operations team
- Coordination of and support for business continuity planning across recovery teams to sustain critical data services in the event of a crisis
- Design, implement and lead coordinated business continuity, disaster recovery and scenario testing exercises annually at a minimum
- Maintain, manage, and educate Global Data Technology team members on Incident and Crisis Management Plans
- Lead reportable event process, taking an active role on supervising EDL incident management performance, gathering information to support ORM operational event management process
- Develop and maintain the data resilience supervising dashboard to provide senior leadership a single pane of glass operational resilience review at all time

What we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience in leading or developing business continuity or operational resilience plans and programs in the Insurance or Financial Industry
- Extensive knowledge of Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Operational Resilience general risk profiles
- Experienced knowledge of Business Continuity Management as the sole BCM domain expert
- Knowledge of methods, systems, and applicable legislative requirements for Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Operational Resilience
- 8+ years’ experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or Information Security environment
- Industry recognized certification (DRI/ABCP/CBCP/MBCI)
- Solid understanding of information systems, cloud technology/platforms (Hadoop, Azure Cloud), and operation procedures in accordance with established corporate security standards
- Previous experience working in a large insurance, financial institution or other regulated industries
- Broad based knowledge of general insurance operations is an asset
- Good communication, organization and project management skills
- Positive attitude with the ability to collaborate with geographically and culturally diverse multi-functional teams
- Exceptional interpersonal, relationship management and partnership skills

Salary range is expected to be between
$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
