Requirements
  • An HNC or HND in an electronics/electrical field or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
  • Experience servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal customer communication skills.
  • A full United Kingdom driving licence is essential.
  • The role requires physical capability for access equipment and occasional confined-space work.
Responsibilities
  • Service, calibrate, and repair electronic gas detection equipment to the relevant standards.
  • Test serviced products, leave them fully operational, and demonstrate them to the site responsible person while recording this on the service paperwork.
  • Support other team members on jobs requiring multiple engineers.
  • Provide customer user training when experienced.
  • Work with the Service Administration team to schedule jobs efficiently and meet customer requirements.
  • Complete service reports accurately and submit them for processing on time.
  • Complete RAMs and POWRAs when required.
  • Manage van stock and calibration gas holdings for the regional customer base, cycling life-critical components regularly to support first-time fixes.
  • Maintain personal personal protective equipment within inspection expiry dates and keep service clothing and equipment clean, current, and operational.
  • Cover the required South East geographical area and other areas for two-person jobs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous field service engineering experience.
  • Commissioning and/or installation experience.
  • Confined Space, IPAF, and Safety Passport qualifications.
