Requirements
  • A Master of Engineering or Master of Technology degree in High Voltage Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience is required.
  • Experience designing high-voltage generation circuits such as high-voltage multiplier and voltage doubler circuits is required.
  • Experience with high-voltage insulation design and packaging is required.
  • Hands-on experience conducting electrical field stress simulations and analysis using finite element method tools such as ANSYS, CST, and Maxwell is required.
  • Knowledge of printed wiring assembly design principles and component selection guidelines for high-voltage applications is required.
  • Experience with high-voltage measurement techniques is required.
  • Ability to conduct high-voltage stress testing and high-voltage parameter margin testing as part of verification is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot high-voltage circuits in X-ray generators and X-ray tubes is required.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage cables, high-voltage connectors, and enclosures for high-voltage systems is required.
  • Ability to analyze existing systems and associated monitoring equipment to troubleshoot and resolve problems is required.
  • Knowledge of engineering change management processes is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work on the design and development of high-frequency, high-voltage generators used in X-ray generation applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software experts to develop designs for X-ray generators.
  • Understand requirements; conduct analysis, calculations, and simulations; and develop and evaluate high-voltage engineering concepts for high-voltage and high-frequency X-ray generators.
  • Deliver designs independently and lead product designs, design changes, or value-engineering productivity programs relevant to X-ray generators.
  • Own assigned projects and work with the project team to meet deliverables based on program requirements while complying with GE HealthCare quality management system requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration, testing, verification, and design transfer of new designs or design changes.
  • Work on advanced technology development, new product introduction, design transfer, design changes and improvements, value engineering, and reliability projects.
  • Execute assignments aligned with business priorities while working with cross-functional teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PhD is desirable.
  • Understanding of power converters, including buck, boost, buck-boost, fly-back, and forward converters.
  • Understanding of high-frequency operation and resonant circuit applications in power converters and inverters.
  • Understanding of resonant power converters.
  • Understanding of high-voltage multiplier and voltage doubler circuits.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.

GE HealthCare secures CE mark for Photonova Spectra photon-counting CT system

GE HealthCare has received CE mark approval for its Photonova Spectra photon-counting computed tomography system, enabling commercial sales in markets recognising CE marking. The clearance follows US Food and Drug Administration approval and Japanese regulatory clearance in March 2026. The system uses GE HealthCare's Deep Silicon detector technology to deliver ultra-high definition spectral and spatial imaging. It processes data volumes up to 50 times greater than conventional CT systems, utilising Nvidia's accelerated computing platform. Clinical collaborations are underway at UZ Brussel in Belgium and Rigshospitalet in Denmark to evaluate the system across cardiology, neurology, oncology and musculoskeletal imaging. The CE mark follows more than $5 billion in innovation investment by GE HealthCare.

GE HealthCare launches three new Vivid cardiovascular ultrasound systems for diverse care settings

GE HealthCare has introduced three new cardiovascular ultrasound systems to its Vivid portfolio: Vivid Explorer 1, Vivid Advanced 1, and Vivid Focus 1. The systems were unveiled at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026 in Munich, Germany. Each system targets different clinical settings whilst sharing a common technology foundation with the ultra-premium Vivid Pioneer. Vivid Explorer is designed for high-volume echo labs, Vivid Advanced for mid-size hospitals and cardiology practices, and Vivid Focus for everyday cardiac imaging. All three systems use cSound imaging technology and include AI-enabled automation tools to streamline echo workflows. The systems have received CE Mark approval but are awaiting US FDA 510(k) clearance and are not yet available for sale in the United States.

GE HealthCare launches Invenia ABUS Prime and StreamVue for breast cancer screening

GE HealthCare has launched Invenia ABUS Prime and ABUS StreamVue, expanding its breast imaging portfolio with solutions for supplemental screening in women with dense breasts. The Invenia ABUS Prime system has been installed at BeSound in Los Angeles, marking one of the first US installations. ABUS StreamVue is a browser-based reading solution enabling remote exam review across imaging networks. The system received FDA 510(k) clearance and CE Marking. GE HealthCare Q2: Orders up 11%, backlog hits record $23.9B amid Patient Care struggles
