Requirements
  • Must have experience analyzing subvisible particulates with instruments such as HIAC Particle Analyzer and Micro Flow Imaging. Prior hands-on laboratory experience in an academic or industry setting is required. A background in protein science, analytical chemistry, process chemistry or related field is preferred. Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of protein degradation pathways. An understanding of therapeutic protein drug product manufacturing practices is preferred. Prior experience in process engineering with hands-on experience working with scaled down manufacturing models is a plus. Hands-on experience with analytical instruments and techniques used for the characterization of protein therapeutics is preferred. Prior hands-on experience or working knowledge of particulate counting and characterization techniques (Micro Flow Imaging, Dynamic Light Scattering, Size Exclusion Chromatography, HIAC) and spectroscopic methods (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism) for structural and compositional analysis is a plus. Qualifications include a background in Protein Science, Analytical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Proficient laboratory skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and innovatively. Education: A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, or related discipline is required. Industry experience by degree level: B.S. 4-6 years, M.S. 2-4 years, Ph.D. 0-2 years.
Responsibilities
  • Design and execute proof-of-concept experiments to characterize the effect of process-related stresses on sub-visible particle formation using scale-down stress models and innovative analytical methods.
  • Characterize sub-visible particle formation during protein formulation processing using cutting-edge analytical technologies.
  • Analyze data and report results through presentations and documentation.
  • Work independently and with minimal supervision in a laboratory setting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance the technology investment project.
