- Maintain, manage, and update current and future application programming interfaces, ensuring compatibility, usability, security, and optimal performance.
- Develop, maintain, and customize software solutions when the Government determines no other solution is available to meet laboratory requirements.
- Ensure software development adheres to industry standards, best practices, Department of Justice standards, Federal Bureau of Investigation standards, and software development lifecycle standards.
- Develop, maintain, and provide documentation for all third-party and internally developed software, including application programming interfaces, scripting, automation, changes, testing, and user or administrator guides.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of software applications when required by the Government.
- Conduct regular code reviews, apply secure coding techniques, perform vulnerability scanning, and conduct unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing to ensure quality and performance when required by the Government.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and validate requirements so software solutions align with laboratory objectives and user needs.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on new software applications and updates to ensure smooth adoption and effective use.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and integrating new tools and practices to enhance software development and maintenance processes.
- Design, develop, deliver, and sustain automated functional Extract, Transform, and Load processing and pipelines, and validate extracted data from structured and unstructured inputs.
- Validate data extracted from structured and unstructured data sources, databases, and other repositories, using scripts and other automated capabilities to load data, logs, and queries.
- Advise government personnel on incremental changes that could lead to continuous improvement in products or processes.
- Experience working in a multisystem environment to include FBINET, UNET, LabAPP, Sensor Management System, Sample Tracking (Visi-Trac RFID), Records Management System, ADAMS Web, STACS-DB (Sample Tracking and Control System – Database), and STACS-CW (Sample Tracking and Control System – Casework).
