Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience formulating and solving optimisation problems for real-world operational use cases.
  • Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in a major solver library such as Gurobi, OR-Tools, CPLEX, HiGHS, or an equivalent.
  • Experience with supply chain and operations data, including SKUs, bills of materials, capacity constraints, service levels, lead times, and inventory targets.
  • Understanding of core operations research techniques, including branch-and-bound, linear programming relaxation, constraint programming, and sensitivity analysis.
  • A degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Own the technical delivery of Pigment's solver pilot programme and build the foundations of a production-grade optimisation capability.
  • Formulate supply chain optimisation problems as rigorous mathematical models with objective functions, costs, penalties, and constraints.
  • Configure and run optimisation models for customer pilots and implementations, and support Solutions Architects in delivering results and debriefs.
  • Build and run Python models against third-party solvers across multiple dataset scales, and benchmark results across use cases.
  • Work with Engineering and Data Science leads to define the path to production-grade solver integration and customer-specific implementations within Pigment's architecture.
  • Engage technically with solver vendor teams during partnership evaluation.
  • Lead and shape the formulation of each client's optimisation problem and participate directly in implementations.

The company has grown its enterprise customer base by 74%, with clients including Uber, Unilever, Anthropic and Siemens. Founded in 2019, Pigment offers an AI-native enterprise performance management platform that replaces spreadsheets and legacy planning tools across finance, sales, HR and supply chain. The company's latest product, a "Modeler Agent", allows users to generate production-ready applications using natural language, reducing build times from weeks to minutes. Pigment has raised nearly $400 million and crossed a $1 billion valuation in 2024, with backing from ICONIQ Growth, Meritech, IVP and others.
