- An Associate’s Degree is required.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions is required.
- At least 2 years of full-time Registered Nurse experience in an emergency room or comparable experience is required.
- Current Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association are required. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification from the Emergency Nurses Association may substitute for Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
- Fluency in English, including written and oral communication, is required.
- Pennsylvania candidates must have completed Act 33 Child Abuse History Clearance and Act 73 FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance within the last 5 years, or obtain them before the start date.
- Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific, developmentally appropriate, and specialty-appropriate nursing care using advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills while ensuring patient and family comfort and safety.
- Complete accurate, concise, and legible documentation in medical records.
- Observe and record patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status.
- Present proposed revisions of interventions and desired outcomes.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
- Follow physician orders when delivering nursing care.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures and COLA and CLIA regulations.
- Follow infection control and isolation procedures and use aseptic techniques when delivering patient care.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
- Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area and perform or assist with procedures or treatments in accordance with applicable legal, hospital, facility, and departmental policies and nursing standards.
- Perform assigned quality assessment activities and document them.
- Attend required staff meetings and other company-sponsored or mandated meetings.
- Perform additional assigned duties.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification.
