Responsibilities
  • Perform and assist with high-quality diagnostic computed tomography and X-ray procedures while focusing on patient care and education.
  • Provide high-quality diagnostic CT imaging.
  • Establish rapport with patients and others to identify patient service requirements.
  • Maintain radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements and advise management on needed actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, professional networks, and professional societies.
  • Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxiety, explaining treatment, and answering questions.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment, and setting exposure factors.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff using radiation-protection techniques, beam-restrictive devices, patient shielding, and exposure-factor knowledge.
  • Protect patients and employees by following infection-control policies, drug protocols for reactions to contrast media, first-aid procedures, and emergency-cart procedures.
  • Maintain radiograph production and quality by following standards, developing radiographs, observing results, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Document patient care services in patient and department records.
  • Contribute to the team by accomplishing related results as needed.
