  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
  • 12+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering within the oil and gas, refining, or petrochemical industries.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Lead on at least three projects.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software, including:
  • 3D modeling/CAD: PDS, PDMS, Navisworks.
  • Stress analysis: CAESAR II.
  • Static equipment design: PV Elite, Compress, HTRI.
  • Extensive knowledge of international design codes and standards, such as ASME, API, TEMA, and NACE.
  • Experience in both onshore and offshore (FPSO) and brownfield projects is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of mechanical engineers and designers to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans, coordination procedures, and quality plans.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for clients, fostering strong customer relationships.
  • Ensure a formal and disciplined technical communication protocol is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • For static equipment: Oversee the technical requirements, specification, and design for equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, and storage tanks.
  • For piping: Supervise the design and layout of piping systems, including routing, material selection, and support placement.
  • Conduct and review advanced static and dynamic pipe stress analyses using software like CAESAR II.
  • Perform or oversee technical calculations for equipment design and evaluation.
  • Review, approve, and manage project deliverables, including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), mechanical data sheets, and equipment specifications.
  • Prepare and review technical bid evaluations for vendor packages.
  • Verify that designs conform to project specifications and international industry codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and TEMA.
  • Ensure all project documentation is properly archived.
  • Coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines (e.g., process, civil, electrical, and instrumentation) to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Participate in design reviews, including 3D model reviews (30%, 60%, 90%), HAZOP, and other risk assessments.
  • Provide technical support for procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning phases and Turnaround activities.
  • Stringent deadlines: Managing tight and demanding project timelines is crucial for staying on budget.
  • Navigating regulations: Adhering to complex and evolving international and regional codes and standards (like ASME, API, and regulatory board guidelines) is a constant challenge.
  • Integration with other disciplines: Effectively coordinating with process, instrumentation, electrical, and civil teams to prevent interface clashes requires strong communication.
  • Risk management: Balancing safety, cost, and efficiency in design, especially for high-pressure and high-temperature systems.
  • Technological evolution: Staying current with new software tools and emerging technologies like automation, advanced analytics, and AI to optimize design.

  • Vendor and client management: Experience in preparing RFQ documents, evaluating vendor bids, and managing communication with external suppliers and clients.
  • Project planning: Competence in project management tools and methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor project activities, schedules, and budgets.
  • Problem-solving: The ability to resolve complex engineering issues, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and provide solutions during construction and operation.
  • Safety leadership: A strong commitment to health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards and the ability to embed safety into all design practices.

Quest Global, a global outsourced engineering services provider, has secured a minority investment from Hillhouse Investment through a combination of primary capital infusion and share purchases from existing stakeholders. The transaction involves funds managed by Hillhouse Investment Management. The Singapore-based company, which employs over 21,500 people across 93 global delivery centres in 18 countries, will use the capital to advance strategic priorities and enhance its engineering capabilities for major original equipment manufacturers worldwide. AROBS acquires Quest Global Romania in all-stock deal with one-year lock-up

Romanian tech group AROBS is acquiring Quest Global Romania from Craiova in an all-stock transaction, marking the company's first acquisition paid entirely through share issuance. The newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period. Quest Global Romania, headquartered in Craiova, employs approximately 110 specialists and provides software development, testing, embedded solutions and IT consulting services across sectors including semiconductors, healthcare and automotive. The company is part of Singapore-based Quest Global, which operates in 18 countries with over 22,000 employees. The acquisition strengthens AROBS's engineering capabilities and international presence. Quest Global Romania's management will continue under Ana-Maria Vasilescu's leadership. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the year.
