  • A bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical/electrical, or architectural engineering as appropriate, or equivalent combined education and experience in the field of practice.
  • At least 12 years of engineering experience specializing in projects in the practice area with increasing responsibility.
  • Professional Engineer licensure is required, with the ability to obtain licensure in the states in which the company does business.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.
  • The employee must be able to pass the pre-employment drug screen within 48 hours of being contacted.
  • The employee may be required to provide authorization for the company to periodically obtain motor vehicle records reports.
Responsibilities
  • Execute project planning, including development of project scope, task organization, estimates of effort and other required resources, and schedules necessary to complete the project.
  • Create project cost estimates and budgets.
  • Execute internal project setup procedures in accordance with company policies.
  • Direct, manage, and participate in production of project deliverables, including preliminary studies, plans and cost estimates, design surveys, designs and plan production, project status and review meetings, and specification and contract document development and production.
  • Participate in the monthly project accounting process, including review of time and expense charges, timely preparation of invoicing, and management of accounts receivable and work in process.
  • Review and assess the progress and financial performance of assigned projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate and implement changes in resource assignments and production methods to achieve efficiency and profitability.
  • Communicate with clients throughout projects to address issues efficiently and meet client expectations.
  • Prepare, conduct, and document progress review and other meetings.
  • Conduct project closeout, including contract closeout and internal evaluation of project performance relative to the budget.
  • Apply the company’s client service model to interactions with clients.
  • Meet administrative requirements and company deadlines, including timesheet submission, invoice preparation and submission, and report submission.
  • Stay current with new engineering trends and techniques.
  • Participate in professional organizations in the manager’s area of expertise or client focus.
  • Maintain professional licensure in the states required by the company.
  • Implement divisional and company standards and processes, including file management systems and resource management/project planning systems.
  • Develop and foster an open communications environment among team members assigned to a project.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as requested.
