Responsibilities
  • Identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundations and corporations
  • Maintain a portfolio of 30-40 foundations, corporations, and other philanthropic entities
  • Engage in qualification, strategy, relationship building, and proposal development for gifts or grants at the $250,000-level and above
  • Identify, secure, and attend meetings for school leadership and faculty with foundation and corporation executives and staff
  • Develop and implement innovative plans for enhancing stewardship of foundation and corporate donors
  • Responsibly document all work with prospects and funders into the constituent relationship management tracking system
  • Supervise 2-3 frontline fundraisers
  • Work with CFR leadership to create individual and team metrics for fundraisers on the CFR team
  • Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with the School's major internal constituencies
  • Serve as a primary resource of information about the School of Medicine
  • Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading and professional development courses
  • Contribute to the overall success of the University by assuming primary responsibility for special projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Experience supervising fundraisers and creating a successful working environment for staff to reach their goals
  • Experience in a medical school or health sciences environment
  • Proven ability and willingness to seek guidance and implement new knowledge obtained through proactive mentorship
  • Understands the complexity of higher education and possesses the sophistication to navigate a complex academic medical environment
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of University Advancement programs and the activities of the department
  • Desire to play a meaningful role in the university’s community and to share in the community’s commitment to education and research
