Anthropic Just Analyzed 700,000 Claude Conversations — And Found Its Ai Has A Moral Code Of Its Own

Join our daily and weekly newsletters for the latest updates and exclusive content on industry-leading AI coverage. Learn More. Anthropic, the AI company founded by former OpenAI employees, has pulled back the curtain on an unprecedented analysis of how its AI assistant Claude expresses values during actual conversations with users. The research, released today, reveals both reassuring alignment with the company’s goals and concerning edge cases that could help identify vulnerabilities in AI safety measures. The study examined 700,000 anonymized conversations, finding that Claude largely upholds the company’s “helpful, honest, harmless” framework while adapting its values to different contexts — from relationship advice to historical analysis. This represents one of the most ambitious attempts to empirically evaluate whether an AI system’s behavior in the wild matches its intended design.“Our hope is that this research encourages other AI labs to conduct similar research into their models’ values,” said Saffron Huang, a member of Anthropic’s Societal Impacts team who worked on the study, in an interview with VentureBeat. “Measuring an AI system’s values is core to alignment research and understanding if a model is actually aligned with its training.”Inside the first comprehensive moral taxonomy of an AI assistantThe research team developed a novel evaluation method to systematically categorize values expressed in actual Claude conversations

Kling 2.0 Review: State Of The Art Ai Video Quality

Decrypt’s Art, Fashion, and Entertainment Hub. Discover SCENEKling 2.0, a major upgrade to the state-of-the-art AI video generator released by the Chinese tech firm Kuaishou, hit the market last week to a flood of jaw-dropping reactions from creators, who quickly burned through hundreds of dollars testing its capabilities."AI video quality just 10x'd overnight. I'm speechless," tweeted AI filmmaker PJ Ace, who claimed to have already spent $1,250 in credits exploring the tool's limits. “I’ve never seen motion this fluid or prompts this accurate.” The post garnered over 757,000 views, highlighting the buzz around this release.AI video quality just 10x’d overnight. Vivago'S Hidream Image Generator Beats Major Players, Makes Open-Source Ai Great Again

Decrypt’s Art, Fashion, and Entertainment Hub. Discover SCENEVivago ai released HiDream-I1 just last week, and it’s already sitting comfortably among the top 5 best image generators, outperforming established models like Flux, Auraflow, and Stable Diffusion 3.5—and even some of the best closed-source models like MidJourney v7, Ideogram v3, and Reve.Vivago is an AI-powered creative platform developed by Sparking Innovations Limited, a company based in Hong Kong that offers a suite of tools for generating and editing visual content.HiDream comes in three versions: “Full” provides the highest quality outputs and requires 50 steps to render a good image; “Dev” does its job in around 30 steps, while “Fast” takes around 16 steps to produce good results.Of course, the more steps the model takes, the more detailed the image will be—and the more resources it will require. But what makes these models different? For starters, their size. HiDream packs a hefty 17 billion parameters that enable it to generate high-quality images across multiple styles in seconds. Just for reference, Stable Diffusion’s SD3.5 is nearly half the size.HiDream-I1 is uncensored and commercially friendly. Released under the MIT license, it enables "unrestricted usage for both personal and commercial projects."However, Vivago noted that it filtered its training data to remove "problematic content," but doesn't restrict outputs, giving users "full creative freedom"—which means you’ll need a fine-tuned version if you want to generate NSFW imagery.(Problematic content does not include generating blasphemous images of China’s President Xi Jinping, despite Vivago being a Hong Kong-based company.)Users must also have some serious hardware to run it locally. The full models require 27GB of VRAM to run, which can only be provided by behemoth GPUs that start at around $2,500.However, within days of the image generator’s release, developers began creating quantized versions to run on more “modest” setups, requiring as little as 16GB of VRAM.For users without high-end hardware, Vivago offers online access through its platform plus there's a Hugging Face space demo. Fal AI also supports Hidream for cheap:Hidream Full: For $1, you can run this model approximately 20 times.Hidream Dev: For $1, you can run this model approximately 33 times.Hidream Fast: For $1, you can run this model approximately 100 times.Testing the modelsHere’s what we found when we put Hidream through its paces.Anatomy understandingPrompt: A Hawaiian kid staring at the camera while doing gestures with his handsHiDream-I1 FullHiDream-I1 Full nails human anatomy with professional-grade accuracy.Hands look natural with correct finger counts and proportions

Openai’S New Gpt-4.1 Models Can Process A Million Tokens And Solve Coding Problems Better Than Ever

OpenAI launched a new family of AI models this morning that significantly improve coding abilities while cutting costs, responding directly to growing competition in the enterprise AI market. The San Francisco-based AI company introduced three models — GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and GPT-4.1 nano — all available immediately through its API. The new lineup performs better at software engineering tasks, follows instructions more precisely, and can process up to one million tokens of context, equivalent to about 750,000 words.“GPT-4.1 offers exceptional performance at a lower cost,” said Kevin Weil, chief product officer at OpenAI, during Monday’s announcement. “These models are better than GPT-4o on just about every dimension.”Perhaps most significant for enterprise customers is the pricing: GPT-4.1 will cost 26% less than its predecessor, while the lightweight nano version becomes OpenAI’s most affordable offering at just 12 cents per million tokens. VIDEO. How GPT-4.1’s improvements target enterprise developers’ biggest pain pointsIn a candid interview with VentureBeat, Michelle Pokrass, post training research lead at OpenAI, emphasized that practical business applications drove the development process.“GPT-4.1 was trained with one goal: being useful for developers,” Pokrass told VentureBeat. “We’ve found GPT-4.1 is much better at following the kinds of instructions that enterprises use in practice, which makes it much easier to deploy production-ready applications.”This focus on real-world utility is reflected in benchmark results
